Sagar firing workshop with Lee Hazelgrove

Grateful to have been able to participate in a sagar firing with a well known Richmond ceramicist, Lee Hazelgrove, who actually was also my high school ceramics teacher!

Hazelgrove's work is all really expectional sagar work with colors that are quite impressive.

Here Hazelgrove demonstrates applying ferric chloride to pots and then they are set aside to dry completely so that the pots are safe to work with again.

Then the pots are prepared with materials that you want to combust and react, hopefully, onto the pot!
